Brake Hose Replacement

NOTE:

Removal

1.Replace the brake hose (C) if the hose is twisted, cracked, or if it leaks.

 

2.Release the cord clips, and remove the wheel sensor cord (B) from the brake hose mounting bracket A.

3.Disconnect the brake line from the brake hose joint (A) using a 10 mm flare-nut wrench (B).

 

4.Remove the brake hose mounting bracket A from the body.

 

5.Remove the brake hose mounting bracket from the brake hose joint (B).

6.Remove the banjo bolt (A), and disconnect the brake hose (B) from the caliper.

 

7.Remove the brake hose from the damper bracket (C), and discard it.

Installation

8.Install the new brake hose (A) on the damper bracket (B) with the 8 mm flange bolt first.

 

9.Connect the brake hose to the caliper with the banjo bolt (C) and new sealing washers (D).

10.Install the brake hose mounting bracket A on the brake hose joint (B) with the 8 mm flange bolt by aligning the pin (C) and hole (D).

 

11.Install the brake hose mounting bracket A on the body with the 6 mm flange bolts. Do not twist the brake hose.

12.Connect the brake line (A) to the brake hose joint (B).

 

13.Attach the wheel sensor cord (B) on the brake hose mounting bracket A with clips as shown.

 

14.After installing the brake hose, bleed the brake system.

15.Perform the following check:

  • Check the brake hose and line joint for leaks, and tighten if necessary.
  • Check the brake hoses for interference and twisting.
