DTC Troubleshooting: P0108 (3)

DTC P0108:  MAP Sensor Circuit High Voltage

1.Turn the ignition switch ON (II).

2.Check the MAP SENSOR in the DATA LIST with the HDS.

Is about 120.7 kPa (905 mmHg, 35.6 in.Hg), or 4.88 V or higher indicated?

YES - Go to 3.

NO - Intermittent failure, system is OK at this time.Check for poor connections or loose terminals at the MAP sensor and the ECM.n

3.Turn the ignition switch OFF.

4.Disconnect the IAT/MAP sensor 4P connector.

5.Connect the IAT/MAP sensor 4P connector terminals No. 1 and No. 4 with a jumper wire.

6.Turn the ignition switch ON (II).

7.Check the MAP SENSOR in the DATA LIST with the HDS.

Is about 120.7 kPa (905 mmHg, 35.6 in.Hg), or 4.88 V or higher indicated?

YES - Go to 8.

NO - Go to 19.

8.Remove the jumper wire.

9.Measure voltage between IAT/MAP sensor 4P connector terminal No. 2 and No. 4.

Is there about 5 V?

YES - Go to 10.

NO - Go to 15.

10.Turn the ignition switch OFF, and wait 10 seconds.

11.Connect the ECM test harness and the test pin box between the ECM and connector.

12.Connect the test pin box terminals No. 60 and No. 64 with a jumper wire.

13.Turn the ignition switch ON (II).

14.Check the MAP SENSOR in the DATA LIST with the HDS.

Is about 120.7 kPa (905 mmHg, 35.6 in.Hg), or 4.88 V or higher indicated?

YES - Repair open in the wire between the ECM connector No. 3 terminal No. 35 (test pin box terminal No. 64) and the MAP sensor, then go to 21.

NO - Go to 26.

15.Turn the ignition switch OFF, and wait 10 seconds.

16.Connect the ECM test harness and the test pin box between the ECM and connector.

17.Turn the ignition switch ON (II).

18.Measure voltage between test pin box terminals No. 46 and No. 60.

Is there about 5 V?

YES - Repair open in the wire between the ECM connector No. 3 terminal No. 31 (test pin box terminal No. 60) and the MAP sensor, then go to 21.

NO - Go to 26.

19.Turn the ignition switch OFF.

20.Replace the IAT/MAP sensor.

21.Reconnect all connectors.

23.Do the ECM RESET in the CLEAR MENU with the HDS.

24.Do the ETCS learn procedure.

25.Check for Temporary DTCs or DTCs in the DTCs MENU with the HDS.

Are any Temporary DTCs or DTCs indicated?

YES - If DTC P0108 is indicated, check for poor connections or loose terminals at the MAP sensor and the ECM, then go to 1. If any other Temporary DTCs or DTCs are indicated, go to the indicated DTC troubleshooting.

NO - Troubleshooting is complete.n

26.Substitute a known-good ECM.

27.Check for Temporary DTCs or DTCs in the DTCs MENU with the HDS.

NO - Replace the original ECM.n
